Boise State celebrates its 114th Commencement

This year's Commencement was the university's largest, with 3,200 students eligible for graduation.

BOISE, Idaho — Saturday, May 4 was a special day on Boise State University's campus, as thousands of students turned their tassel for their next chapter in life.

"Boise State will celebrate the newest group of more than 172,000 living alumni during its 50th Commencement as a university," the website states.

The university celebrated its 114th Commencement, as well as its largest commencement in history. A record 3,200 Broncos were eligible for graduation, earning 3,918 degrees. 

The Commencement also celebrated the 50th anniversary of Boise State College becoming Boise State University. 

During the ceremonies, honorary doctorate degrees were given to former Idaho governor Butch Otter and former state senator Cherie Buckner-Webb. 

KTVB congratulates all of the Gem State grads closing this chapter of life and looking forward to what's next.
