The Boise Farmers Market opens its 12th market season this Saturday, April 6, at 1500 Shoreline Drive in Boise.

Opening-day shoppers can expect many of the same vendors offering a bounty of locally sourced vegetables, meats, dairy, baked goods and prepared foods, plus ready-to-eat food and drinks for those who come to the market with an appetite.

Over 80 Idaho farmers, ranchers and producers will help bring the community together to open the season. There are a few changes to the flow this year, so patrons are advised to check in early and plan their grocery shopping in advance.

Executive Director Amber Beierle says this season will continue to offer community, education and locally focused foods, while also expanding programs to increase accessibility and welcome all regardless of social or financial status.

“The Market is everything great about Boise and our surrounding farming communities,” Beierle said in a news release. “We continue to encourage a marketplace of best people providing the best local food using best farming practices. We are eager to educate and invite all to be a part of our community.”

The market also offers the Boise Farmers Market Drive-thru, allowing shoppers to place orders on Tuesday and Wednesday in the online store, then pick up their order on Saturday in the drive-thru lane. Boise Farmers Market walk-thru shoppers can also enjoy open-air shopping at the market on Saturdays from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., rain or shine.

The market accepts SNAP/EBT. Those eligible shoppers can stretch their money with the Double Up Food Bucks program with up to $20 extra at the market. Market vendors also accept cash, debit and credit cards. The market runs April through October.
