SPOKANE, Wash. — Not all was as it seemed when it came to the bands at the first round of the NCAA Tournament at the Spokane Arena. For those in the arena it looked like Yale had brought their full band for their game against Auburn. However, the school had left their band at home and it was the University of Idaho band that was playing for Yale instead.

The University of Idaho posted the Sound of Idaho Vandal Marching Band on its social media page. The band supported and played in support of Yale for the entire game. Yale even brought blue t-shirts with a “Y” on them for the band. It is unknown if the U of I band will play for Yale in the second round game.

Yale won against Auburn in their match, going 78-76. Yale will move on to play San Diego State on Sunday, 6:40 p.m.
