Former political candidate identified as murder suspect in the death of Christopher Tapp

The Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department issued an arrest warrant for 45-year-old Daniel Rodimer.

BOISE, Idaho — A former congressional candidate was identified by Las Vegas police as the murder suspect in the death of Christopher Tapp.

The Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department (LVMPD) said on Wednesday an arrest warrant for Daniel Rodimer, 45, was filed on March 6. He is being charged with open murder.

LVMPD said on Oct. 29, first responders went to a call of an injured man on the 3000 block of the Las Vegas Boulevard. When they got there, they found Tapp injured from what they believed was an accident.

Tapp was taken to the hospital, where he later died from his injuries caused by blunt force trauma to the head, police said.

On Nov. 22 the LVMPD said their homicide team began to look into his "suspicious death." In January, police said Tapp was in an altercation inside a resort room before first responders found him.

LVMPD also said the Clark County Coroner's Office ruled Tapp's death as a homicide.

As KTVB previously reported, Tapp spent 20 years in prison, and in 2017, he was released from prison after it was ruled he was wrongfully convicted.

If you have information about Rodimer's whereabouts, contact the LVMPD at (702) 828-3521 or by email at homicide@lvmpd.com.
