Update: 1 dead, 3 injured and 2 men arrested in Idaho Falls shooting

Police said two people were shot and one person was run over by a car near a parking lot in Compass Academy.

IDAHO FALLS, Idaho — The Idaho Falls Police Department (IFPD) released an update revealing further information about the incident that killed a man early Friday.

IFPD said in a news release that four people were injured during the incident, two were shot, and one was run over by a car. One person was pronounced dead early Monday morning, but it's unclear if the victim was the person shot or run over.

Police said at 1 a.m. Idaho Falls police and Bonneville County Sheriff's deputies responded to calls of reported gunshots at the Compass Academy in Idaho Falls. In the Northwest parking lot, they found the four people injured.

Police said the shooting happened after an argument in a large group of people broke out into a fight. Two people with guns shot during the fight

Idaho Falls EMS took the three victims to the hospital. A fourth person who was injured was taken to the hospital by car.

According to IFPD everyone involved, except the three injured, fled the scene, and that was when a person was run over by one of the cars leaving the scene.

Police said they have identified everyone involved, and arrested 18-year-old Taylor Aughenbaugh and 19-year-old Gabriel Perkins early Monday morning.

Aughenbaugh is facing two counts of Aggravated Battery. Perkins is charged with aggravated battery and felony leaving the scene of an injury accident.

IFPD stated that although the shooting happened close to a school, they don't think there is any danger to the public. Several neighboring schools closed in an abundance of caution.

The IFPD said they are still investigating the incident and will provide further information in the future. They also said they are aware of a Snapchat video that was shared with them.

If you have further information about the incident call IFPD's dispatch at (208) 529-1200.
