Caldwell man stabbed to death in Nampa, police say

Nampa Police said the incident happened early Wednesday morning on 3rd Avenue North.

BOISE, Idaho — A man was found dead by police early Wednesday morning after officers responded to a call to a  Nampa Alley. 

The Nampa Police Department said at 3:38 a.m., it received a 911 call saying a man was lying in an alley in the 1200 block of 3rd Avenue North. Upon arrival, first responders found a man dead with "what appeared to be stab wounds."

Nampa Police identified the victim as 29-year-old Abel Saenz of Caldwell.

The man in custody has not yet been identified. Police said charges will be released later.

Police on social media said Wednesday's incident is believed to be an isolated event. EMS and fire personnel also responded to the incident.
