ACHD open house for Downtown Eagle Mobility Project

The open house is on Wednesday, Jan. 31 at the Hilton Garden Inn in Eagle from 3 to 7pm. People can stop by anytime and learn about the project.

EAGLE, Idaho — The Ada County Highway District (ACHD) is hosting an open house for people to learn more about the Downtown Eagle Mobility Project. The open house is on Wednesday, Jan. 31 at the Hilton Garden Inn in Eagle from 3 to 7 p.m. ACHD said people can come by anytime to ask questions and get information on the project that begins in February 2024.

"The Eagle Road and State Street intersection is the gateway to the City of Eagle and an important part of the downtown core. As a gateway, it serves vehicles, bicyclists and pedestrians of all ages who want to access local businesses, neighborhoods, the elementary school, and the senior center," a news release stated.

The project is planned to "involve Eagle Road and State Street and the connecting roadway network, which includes Olde Park Place, Plaza Drive and Aikens Street," and will work in two phases to minimize the traffic.

The first phase expands the intersection at Plaza Drive and Eagle Road. The district also said other improvements will take place including installing a new traffic signal. The second phase starts in the fall and is about improving Eagle Road for mobility and safety.

"ACHD has coordinated with utilities, including Veolia, Idaho Power and Intermountain Gas. They will be completing improvements in tandem with ACHD’s work as part of the District’s “dig once” goal,' the release stated.

ACHD said it has also been speaking with the local businesses that the construction will impact. People can get more information and updates on the project at achdidaho.org
