Coroner identifies Boise man hit, killed by vehicle

The Ada County Coroner on Tuesday said a 50-year-old Boise man was killed after being hit by a vehicle on Cloverdale Road on Friday, Dec. 22.

BOISE, Idaho — The 50-year-old man who was killed after being hit by a vehicle on Dec. 22 in Boise was identified on Tuesday by the Ada County Coroner's Office. 

Lars Johnson of Boise died from blunt force injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene of the crash, according to a news release from the coroner. The crash occurred on North Cloverdale Road near West Mesquite Drive.

Boise Police said detectives and a crash reconstruction team responded to the crash involving a vehicle and pedestrian around 6:30 p.m. Friday, Dec. 22. First responders attempted life-saving measures, but they were unsuccessful.

The crash closed Cloverdale Road between Executive Drive and Fairview Avenue for multiple hours Friday night and drivers were asked to avoid the area.

The crash remains under investigation by the Boise Police Department. Anyone with information or who may have witnessed the crash is asked to call Ada County Dispatch at 208-377-6790.
