Update: Boise Fire investigating structure fire at Walmart on Overland Road

The Boise Fire Department said there were no injuries, and they are still investigating the cause of the fire. The store remains closed.

BOISE, Idaho — The Boise Fire Department (BFD) is investigating what caused the structure fire at Walmart on West Overland Road Thursday evening.

Boise Fire said in a news release they responded to a fire at the Walmart on 8300 Block West Overland Road around 5:30 p.m. Arriving firefighters said because of smoke detectors, people were already evacuating the smoke-filled building and they found the active fire in the back corner. 

They extinguished the fire and confirmed nobody was still in the building, Boise Fire said. There were no reported injuries. 

According to Boise Fire, the fire damaged the back corner of the building and the entire store sustained smoke and water damage.

The cause of the fire is still being investigated.

A spokesman for Boise Fire said the store remains closed.
