Coroner identifies man hit, killed by truck in Nampa

The Ada County Coroner's Office identified the man as 68-year-old James Marquette of Boise. Police said he was hit by a truck while riding an electric bicycle.

NAMPA, Idaho — A man died Tuesday morning after he was hit by a pickup truck while riding an electric bicycle, the Nampa Police Department reported. 

The Ada County Coroner's Office on Wednesday identified the man as 68-year-old James Marquette of Boise. His cause of death is listed as multiple blunt force injuries.

Officers, fire and EMS personnel were called to the crash near the intersection of North Merchant Way and West Karcher Road shortly before 6:20 a.m. Tuesday. Marquette was transported by ambulance to the Saint Alphonsus Regional Medical Center in Boise.

The coroner on Wednesday said he was pronounced dead later Tuesday morning after lifesaving measures were unsuccessful.

The crash involving the pickup truck and electric bicycle remains under investigation by the Nampa Police Department.
