Woman dies after being struck by car near Mountain Home

Police said the 55-year-old died at the scene of the crash on Highway 67 in Elmore County.

MOUNTAIN HOME, Idaho — Idaho State Police is investigating a fatal car versus pedestrian crash which occurred at 5:46 p.m. Tuesday on State Highway 67 west of Mountain Home, according to a news release

A 71-year-old woman from Grand View was traveling north in a 2008 Nissan Titan on the highway when police said she collided with a pedestrian standing in the lane of travel near milepost 7. 

Police said the pedestrian, a 55-year-old woman from Mountain Home, died at the scene of the collision.

The driver was wearing a seatbelt and was not taken into medical care. All lanes of traffic were blocked for roughly three hours, allowing for first responders to assist those involved. 

Tuesday's incident is under investigation by Idaho State Police.
