World Renowned Cellist: Dave Eggar and The Bristol Lightning Bluegrass Band Visit Idaho Fine Arts Academy

Dave Eggar is a world renowned Cellist who, at the age of just 15, became the youngest winner of the Artists International Competition at Carnegie Hall.

World-renowned cellist Dave Eggar, at just 15, became the youngest winner of the Artists International Competition at Carnegie Hall. The Julliard and Harvard graduate is now in his fourth residence at Idaho Fine Arts Academy.  A true prodigy, Eggar played the cello and piano at age three and performed as a singer and actor on Broadway and at the Metropolitan Opera at age seven.

Dave Eggar, Phil Faconti, Jamie Collins, and Blake Collins will be demonstrating the fusion of Appalachian music and classical music, teaching, and performing. They will host a workshop in addition to these two shows at the Idaho Fine Arts Academy. Dave's recent visit to Idaho is spurred by his continued support of the arts in education. He took time from his busy schedule to share his incredible ensemble, Bristol Lightening, a bluegrass trio, with resonating vocals delivered by Jamie Collins on "Idaho Today."

Most recently, Eggar appeared on "The View," performing with Natasha Bedingfield and MILCK, and had a performance with the Boston Symphony Orchestra.

He joined host Mellisa Paul to share his latest news, his guest appearance at Idaho Fine Arts Academy directing workshops with students and then holding two concerts with his bluegrass band "Bristol Lightning" in collaboration with the performing arts schools pupils. Joining him in the KTVB studio were vocalist and stand-up bass musician Collins and guitarist Phil Faconti.

These concerts are this week, Thursday, November 2, and Friday, November 3, at Mountain View High School Auditorium at 7:00 p.m.

Eggar is a world-renowned Cellist who has traveled the world, performing at London's Barbican Center, The Paris Opera, Hollywood Bowl, and many other venues across the globe.

You can hear his contemporary work at the top of Coldplay's "Viva La Vida," and he's contributed and collaborated with multiple other artists, Beyonce, the late Tony Bennett, Andrea Bocelli, Lindsey Stirling, Evanescence, John Legend, Meryl Streep and more.
