FRUITLAND, Idaho — Fruitland Police said the endangered missing 16-year-old girl it was looking for Friday has been "safely recovered" by police in Las Vegas, Nevada.

The Fruitland teenager was reported as a runaway around 11 p.m. Thursday. She was entered as missing and endangered in the Idaho Missing Persons Clearinghouse and the Nation Crime Information Center Friday morning.

Police on Facebook said the teen was tracked to Las Vegas using electronic devices and "other investigative techniques." She was recovered by the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department.

At the time she was reported missing, police said investigators had reason to believe she was in southern Utah, possibly headed south. Hemet, California, was also included as a possible location, where the teenager has family.
