BOISE, Idaho — The Ada County coroner has identified the 28-year-old Nampa man who died in a car crash in Garden City on Sunday as Timothy Scott Jenkins.
The fatal crash happened just before 4 p.m. Sunday at the intersection of Glenwood Street and Chinden Boulevard in Garden City.
The cause of death, according to the coroner's report, was blunt force trauma from a car accident.
Investigators said the crash happened when Jenkins was traveling at a high rate of speed on Glenwood Street, lost control of his Ford Ranger, went off the road, then crashed into a business sign before the pickup hit a parked truck in the parking lot of Recycle Boise. The Ranger then rolled onto its roof.
Garden City Police said initial evidence indicates that speed was a contributing factor in the crash. Officers also said they found evidence that alcohol may have been an additional factor in the crash.
However, the coroner's report states that it might take several weeks for the toxicology test results to get back.
The Garden City Police Department is continuing to investigate the crash.
