EAGLE, Idaho — Preschool and kindergarten students from the Montessori Academy in Eagle celebrated Earth Day by releasing hundreds of ladybugs throughout the schoolyard to help improve the health of local vegetation.
Before Monday's release, the students raised the ladybugs in their class and learned how these small insects benefit our gardens.
“They eat lots of destructive bugs in our gardens and keep us from having to use pesticides," said teacher C.J. Retzlaff.
The kids really got into the spirit of the event by dressing up like ladybugs and their favorite insects.
