Boise hosts Football Bowl Association annual meeting

Nearly 400 representatives from various bowls, conferences and universities are attending the three-day event.

BOISE - Representatives from 41 college football bowl games are in Boise this week for Football Bowl Association meetings.

It's the first time Boise has hosted the annual event, which welcomes some 400 representatives from various bowls - including the College Football Playoffs - along with officials from major conferences and universities.

Attendees will participate in meetings and events to discuss the current bowl structure and its future. It's also a networking opportunity.

"This association is really about us sharing ideas, looking at how we can get better in everything we do," said Famous Idaho Potato Bowl Director Kevin McDonald, who played an integral role in bringing the event to Boise. "We talk about how we do everything, from buying gifts (for bowl game participants), to fan experience."

A trade show featuring 65 vendors from around the country has been set up in the Boise Centre convention center as participants look for unique ways to showcase their bowl game and the experience for the teams.

It kicked off Tuesday and runs through Thursday in downtown Boise.
