MERIDIAN -- The Ada County Coroner's Office has identified a Nampa woman who died days after her car was rear-ended in Meridian.
Pamela Susan Sherman, 63, died from blunt force trauma, according to the coroner.
Police say Sherman was driving near the intersection of Meridian Road and Chinden Boulevard at about 8:30 p.m. when her vehicle was struck from behind. Sherman was rushed to Saint Alphonsus Regional Medical Center in Boise, but died from her injuries March 8.
Police had previously urged any witnesses to the wreck to come forward. The collision remains under investigation by Meridian Police.
Deputy Chief Tracy Basterrechea said investigators do not believe the 19-year-old man who hit Sherman was under the influence of alcohol or drugs. However, distracted driving may have been a factor in the crash, he said.
Once the investigation is finished, the case will be forwarded to prosecutors for possible criminal charges, according to Basterrechea.
