CALDWELL -- A crash near Caldwell sent multiple people to the hospital Tuesday night.

The collision happened at the intersection of Homedale Road and Farmway Road.

Idaho State Police say a 2004 Mitsubishi Eclipse was headed east on Homedale Road when the driver failed to stop at the stop sign, and hit a 2015 Ford Fiesta driving north on Farmway.

The impact pushed both cars off the road, and they came to a rest in a field northeast of the intersection.

The occupants of the Mitsubishi were taken by ambulance to West Valley Medical Center in Caldwell, while the Ford's occupants were transported to Saint Alphonsus in Boise.

The names of the people involved and the severity of their injuries have not yet been released.

The intersection was completely blocked for about three hours while crews investigated.
