CALDWELL - Police said a Montana man was arrested Thursday afternoon after being accused of shooting at two other men who interrupted a vehicle burglary.

Caldwell officers responded at around 2 p.m. to a report of shots fired at a business in the 2500 block of East Cleveland Boulevard.

Witnesses told police that the suspect - 31-year-old Caleb Lamp of Bozeman - fired a handgun at two men when they interrupted the burglary in the parking lot outside the business. Neither of the men were struck or injured.

Police said Lamp fled on foot, but he was found shortly afterward near Wisconsin Avenue and Linden Street. He was arrested, and police said he still was carrying the handgun - which was stolen from the vehicle.

Lamp was in the Canyon County Jail on multiple charges, including two counts of aggravated assault with a firearm, grand theft and battery on a law enforcement officer.
