BOISE -- A motorcycle rider was taken to the hospital after police say another driver ran a red light and crashed into him Saturday afternoon.

The collision happened at about 1:30 p.m. at the intersection of Rose Hill and Roosevelt streets on the Boise Bench.

According to police, the man was riding south on his motorcycle when he was struck by an eastbound Subaru driven by a 31-year-old woman.

Investigators say the motorcycle had the right-of-way, and the woman had failed to stop at a red light just before she hit him.

The man was rushed to the hospital with life-threatening injuries, police say. By Monday, his condition had improved and although he remains hospitalized, he is in stable condition and is expected to survive.

Police have not released the identity of either the injured man or the Subaru driver.

The crash remains under investigation by Boise Police, and detectives have forwarded the case to the Ada County Prosecutor's Office for possible charges.
