PYEONGCHANG -- McCall-born cross-country skier Scott Patterson continued to be a bright spot for U.S. cross-country ski team at the 2018 Winter Games, on Sunday morning.

Patterson was one of four athletes selected to represent Team USA in the men's 4x10km relay. Overall, the American struggled, finishing 14th in a field that only featured 14 teams.

The 26-year-old Patterson appeared to shine once again though. Patterson raced the third leg of the event for the Americans and finished in 22:58.8, the fastest individual split on his team.

When Patterson started, Team USA was in 14th place. By the time he handed the race over to Noah Hoffman, the Americans were in 12th.

Patterson has now completed three races in PyeongChang. In addition to the 4x10km relay, he also finished 18th (out of 68) in the 30km skiathlon and 21st (out of 119) in the 15km free event.
