NAMPA - A BB gun was found in a student's backpack at East Valley Middle School in Nampa on Thursday, the school district said.
Kathleen Tuck, the Nampa School District's director of community relations, said East Valley staff received a report of a student with a gun. The student was located immediately, and then the BB gun was also found.
Tuck said the student was cooperative, and there was never a danger to other students at the school for sixth- through eighth-graders. There were also no threats or injuries associated with the incident.
Tuck said the district can't address disciplinary actions and that the school administrator is handling the situation.
The district isn't releasing the student's name.
Tuck said parents should remind their children that no weapons are allowed at school, and that "See Something, Say Something" was a good thing in this situation.
