NAMPA - A longtime Canyon County legislator has died.

Dolores Crow made her mark in state history by serving in Idaho's House of Representatives for 24 years.

She was known as a strong voice for Republican values and served as chairwoman of the House Revenue and Taxation and Environmental Affairs committees.

But she also was criticized while serving on the Idaho Redistricting Commission for not protecting Republican interests there.

Her daughters told KTVB that their mom always thought that doing what was right was more important than anything, even politics, and she believed being bipartisan in that effort was right.

Crow was also very gratified by her role in the restoration of the Statehouse.

Her memorial service is this Saturday at 10 a.m. at Crossroads Community Church in Nampa.

Crow was 86 years old.
