MERIDIAN -- One man was killed overnight when his SUV smashed into a pole on the offramp to Eagle Road.
According to Meridian Police, the wreck happened at about 1:40 a.m. Wednesday on the westbound offramp from Interstate 84.
The driver, identified Wednesday by the Ada County Coroner's Office as David Taylor Jones of Meridian, was the only person in the vehicle, police said. He died at the scene.
Meridian Police Deputy Chief Tracy Basterrechea said speed was a factor in the crash.
The coroner's office said toxicology results are pending and may take several weeks to return.
Meridian police are investigating.
