2 firefighters hurt during Garden City blaze

One firefighter suffered an ankle injury, and another had a back injury, Boise Fire said.

GARDEN CITY -- Two firefighters were injured as they worked to put out an early-morning fire at a Garden City facility Wednesday.

Boise Fire was called out at 5:30 a.m. to a commercial laundry facility in the 5200 block of North Sawyer Avenue. Crews arrived on scene to see smoke coming from the building.

Officials say the building's sprinkler system slowed the spread of the fire, and firefighters were able to get it under control in 20 to 30 minutes.

One firefighter suffered an ankle injury, and another had a back injury, Boise Fire said.

Although flames scorched a wall, the business will remain open. The cause of the fire was determined to be accidental.
