Bond set at $1M for Boise man charged with shooting at neighbor's house

Police say 61-year-old Jason K. Evans fired multiple shots with a rifle at a nearby home Wednesday night.

BOISE -- A Boise man is in the Ada County Jail after police say he fired a rifle at his neighbor's home as three people stood outside Wednesday night.

The shooting happened at about 7:30 p.m. to the 9000 block of West Cory Street, off North Mitchell Street between Fairview Avenue and Ustick Road.

Police say 61-year-old Jason K. Evans fired multiple shots at a nearby home with the rifle. The people outside the home were able to run to safety inside the house, and none of them were hit, police say.

Investigators say Evans knew the victims, but did not have any ongoing disagreement with them. A motive in the shooting has not been released.

Evans was arrested and faces three felony charges of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon. He made his first court appearance Thursday afternoon, and is due back in court for a preliminary hearing at 8:30 a.m. Feb. 1.

Bond for Evans is set at $1 million.
