PARMA -- A man from Hermiston, Oregon was killed Wednesday evening when he was struck by a car in Parma.
Idaho State Police say 72-year-old Lawrence Handel was walking across U.S. 95 near 9th Street when the collision happened.
Handel was hit by a northbound Ford Mustang driven by 22-year-old Gustavo Neri of Caldwell, and died from his injuries at the scene.
Neri was wearing a seatbelt, police say, and wasn't hurt.
The northbound lanes of U.S. 95 were blocked for about two hours. The wreck remains under investigation.
