A southern Idaho man was sentenced to 10 to 20 years in prison after authorities say he threatened to kill the family of his ex-girlfriend and fired a gun into an empty car.
The Times-News reports 28-year-old Kevin Duran was sentenced Tuesday after he pleaded guilty to aggravated assault with a deadly weapon.
Police say the Twin Falls man had threatened the family in June. Police say he went to his ex-girlfriend's house with a gun, attempted to break in and shot at her boyfriend's car parked outside.
Prosecutors dropped five other charges against Duran in exchange for his guilty plea.
In a statement to Judge Cheri Copsey, Duran says he never intended to harm anyone and all he wanted was to see his children.
